Abstract

Beginning in 1916, Samuel L. Frost with his wife spent 33 years in China except during the year of World War II. From 1916-1930 he was educational and missionary volunteer secretary of the Far Eastern Division, which position he retained three years longer in the China Division, after it was formed in 1930. During this time he concurrently served two periods as president of the Shanghai Missionary College. In 1933 he and his wife joined the staff of the China Training Institute near Hankow as dean and music teacher respectively. Returning to Shanghai in 1936, Elder Frost spent five years secretary of the China Division and then he was interned by the Japanese until close of the war. In 1948 they returned to Shanghai for one more year with the Shanghai Sanitarium. They are now retired, living in California.
