Abstract

Having accepted a call to Korea in 1909, Harold A. Oberg was ordained in 1915 and continue as director of mission work there for 14 years. He married Elsie Graham, a former schoolmate at Walla Walla College, in 1912, and they labored together in mission work in the Orient until 1941. Elder oberg later held positions of responsibility in Japan and China. At different times he was in Manchuria, Shanghai, and Hongkong. He served shorter periods of time in both the Phlippine Islands and in Singapore. Elder Oberg was pasator of the Bend, Oregon, church after returning from the mission field on a permanent basis in 1941. He was then chaplain of the Portlan Sanitarium until the time of his last illness. He passed to his rest in 1948 and Mrs. Oberg now lives in College Place.
